Ellen Peckham;
Reimagined: Inspired by the Work of Six Decades

At the top of a dirt road in Sag Harbor, NY, is an enclave born of and honoring, the period when artists made their homes in the area. The sculptural, hand-wrought wooden buildings (“form follows function”), home, workshop, studio, gallery and meeting hall, are creations of Dan Welden, painter, printmaker and guru of that medium. They bear no resemblance to the glitzy Hamptons and are, therefore, more an adventure to discover.

Into that environment steps Peckham, aged printmaker, collagist, constructionist, playful jeweler of organic elements. And poet.

Unlike most exhibitions, focused on a single form, Welden has invited Peckham, sometimes classic, often idiosyncratic, to select works from any period and all incentives, united only by her aesthetic. Coincidentally, a review jarring memories resulted in fresh configurations and environments.
